The authentication process
Before any lot appears in the public SOSNA Exchange catalog, it passes a four-layer verification process. No self-publishing, no third-party listings.
1. Document intake
Original certificates and provenance documents are recorded and hashed. Each document gets a tamper-evident SHA-256 fingerprint stored in the immutable ledger.
2. Independent laboratory verification
Reports are verified against the issuing laboratory (GIA, SSEF, GRS, Gübelin and equivalents). Suspicious or unverifiable reports halt the process.
3. Certificate-to-stone matching
On-site verification that the physical stone matches the certificate — weight, dimensions, inclusions and optical fingerprint.
4. Trade Desk approval
Only after all checks pass does the SOSNA Trade Desk approve the lot for the public catalog. Failed lots are never published.
Authentication confirms identity and certificate match. It is not a valuation, a return guarantee or investment advice.
